Polar Bear adaptation to winter and bitter Northern climate is one of the wonders of nature. The changing sea ice where polar bears live, is one of the climates most cruel and relentless on planet Earth.
It is only in modern times of evolution that has adjusted to the Arctic marine life. Began during the Ice Age in the northern seas, when the seals needed for breathing and his companion near the water surface. Small home ranges (19,000 to 23,000 miles) is located near the Canadian Arctic Islands, while larger home ranges can be found in the Areas of the Bering and Chukchi Sea. The polar bear remains in the general area during the same season. A polar bear walks 19 miles or more per day for several days, although some are capable of much more than that. One can only hope that the polar bear will adapt as their habitat area is reduced and the pressures of civilization continue to encroach on the natural houses where the polar bear calls home.
