I'm going to Seattle in February and I would like to know if there is snow out there and where to go skiing that is close enough to make a day trip of it? we have a car rental anywhere with say 2 or 3 hour trip?

The closest is the Summit at Snoqualmie. It is an hour away and the ski conditions are OK. Much of the area and its right along the road. You tend to get heavy snow classic west coast. More than two hours away by car, and greater elevation of Crystal Mountain. Lots of varied terrain and light snow. It can be very crowded on weekends, but lots of fun.
